Hourani advises Shahini Group on the sale of its logistics business to Almarai

Hourani & Partners has advised Shahini Group on the sale of its logistics business (Etmam) to Almarai for SAR 182m.

Almarai is one of the world’s largest vertically integrated dairy companies and one of the region’s largest food and beverage manufacturing and distribution companies with a market value of over $15bn.

Established in 1950, Shahini Group is recognized as one of the leading private companies in the Saudi food and distribution industry.

Etmam Logistics, one of Shahini Group’s subsidiaries, provides comprehensive third-party logistics (3PL) services including warehousing, transportation, and supply chain management solutions tailored to meet the needs of their diverse clientele​.

The transaction was led by Salim Sader with support from Mohammed Zarei*, Mine Sekmen and Jennifer Abou Fadel. Zain Satardien and Aakriti Sharma advised on the KSA tax implications of the transaction, including real estate transaction tax (RETT) and value added tax (VAT) analysis.
