Hourani advises Tarjama in its acquisition of Screens

Hourani & Partners advised Tarjama Ltd., in its 100% acquisition of Screens Group. The strategic acquisition for Tarjama paves the way for its expansion into vital media services, further solidifying its position in the media and language technology market in the region.

Tarjama, based in the United Arab Emirates, is the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s leading language technology and services provider.

Screens is the biggest subtitling, dubbing, and localisation company in the MENA region, which works with clients regionally and globally.

The acquisition further fortifies Hourani’s collaboration with Tarjama which began with the firm’s representation of Amethis, a prominent private equity firm in Africa and the MENA region, in its 2020 acquisition of a minority stake in Tarjama.

The Screens transaction was led by Partner Salim Sader with support from Julia Snyder, Mine Sekmen, Bassem Bedir, Ellen Ray, Sophia Niazi, and Jennifer Aboufadel.
