Hourani advises Kamal Osman Jamjoom Trading LLC in its acquisition of The Body Shop

Hourani & Partners has advised Dubai-based Kamal Osman Jamjoom Trading LLC (KOJ) with its acquisition of The Body Shop stores in the UAE, making KOJ the largest franchise operation for The Body Shop in the MENA market. The acquisition expands KOJ’s customer base throughout the GCC having already established a strong presence of The Body Shop stores in western Saudi Arabia.

 
KOJ is a leading retail conglomerate in the Middle East specializing in beauty, fashion, food & beverage, and healthcare. It operates over 605 retail outlets distributing renowned brands such as Early Learning Center (ELC) and Lego, as well as its own brands Mihyar, Moda and Nayomi.

The renowned cosmetics company The Body Shop, founded by Anita Roddick, known for its commitment to cruelty free and ethically sourced skincare and makeup products has presence in around 3,000 retail locations in more than 70 countries.

The transaction was led by Salim Sader and assisted by Julia Snyder, Lea Hage Chahine and Tarek Moghabghab.
