Breakfast seminar: Exploring corporate, trade, and tax laws in the GCC

 

Hourani & Partners’ Tax and International Trade team, in collaboration with LexisNexis Middle East, hosted a dynamic breakfast seminar at the firm’s Dubai office. The event brought together industry experts and thought leaders to delve into the complex landscape of corporate, trade, and tax laws in the GCC region.

 

The session was moderated by Senior Associate, Aakriti Sharma, who led a distinguished panel of speakers including Zain Satardien, Hourani’s Head of Tax and International Trade; Harsh Bhatia, Director from Grant Thornton – UAE; George Paraskevadis, Supply Chain Director at Kenvue (formerly J&J Healthcare); and David Russell, Barrister at Law at Outer Temple Chambers, DIFC.

Throughout the seminar, the panelists engaged in insightful discussions exploring key international tax considerations for trading in the UAE and KSA, emerging challenges and developments in international trade within the GCC, corporate law options and obstacles, as well as competition and bilateral trends shaping the region.

The event culminated with the launch of Zain Satardien’s book entitled ‘Global Trade Law in the Middle East: Essential Principles for the Gulf States,’ which was jointly published by LexisNexis and Hourani & Partners. The publication is an indispensable resource for legal professionals navigating the intricacies of global trade law in the Gulf region.
