Ellen is a Professional Support Lawyer responsible for overseeing knowledge management and thought leadership at Hourani & Partners. She focuses on enhancing efficiency and expertise within the firm, oversees internal training programs, curates and maintains the firm’s knowledge library, and implements technology-driven solutions to support legal work.

In addition to managing the firm’s knowledge resources, Ellen monitors changes in law and oversees article writing efforts, ensuring the firm remains at the forefront of industry developments.

Ellen joined Hourani & Partners as an associate in 2019 and transitioned to her current role in 2024. She has extensive experience acting for both borrowers and lenders in an array of Islamic and conventional banking and finance matters and has also advised clients on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and other corporate transactional matters.

Ellen’s experience includes assisting the team in advising:

  • An international investment bank in relation to a SAR 573,750,000 murabaha facility in connection with the acquisition of a majority stake in KSA’s leading digital transformation enabler
  • A US-based venture capital firm in connection with the US$ 100 million financing of UAE-based online shopping application.
  • A KSA-based financial institution in connection with its existing suite of agreements in order to conform with the new guidelines issued by SAMA
  • An online payment gateway service in connection with its SAR 138 million funding round
  • A leading Saudi Arabian marketing agency in connection with several new and updated exclusive distributor agreements
