United Arab Emirates
Hourani & Partners Legal Consultancy FZCO (“H&P”) is authorized and duly licensed by the Dubai World Trade Centre (License # L-1457) and the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department (License # CF-2021-00158) to provide advocacy, legal consulting, and other legal services.
Advocacy and certain other legal services are provided by Hourani & Partners, a law firm authorized and duly licensed by the Dubai Department of Economic Development (License # 104453) and the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department (License # ADF-2012-78).
As the official professional regulatory body in Dubai, the Department of Legal Affairs also has jurisdiction over the individual attorneys practicing in Dubai where applicable. The Dubai government through the Department of Legal Affairs requires attorneys to be individually licensed by it in order to lawfully provide legal services in the Emirate. There are a host of requirements to be satisfied and standards to be met – including on a recurring basis in the form of continuing legal education – in order for an attorney to become and remain duly licensed and registered to practice law in Dubai.
In jurisdictions where H&P does not have its own presence or license to practice law, legal services are provided by separately constituted and regulated entities, each of which is independently owned and operated by their respective members, partners, and/or other principals and carry an independent license to practice law. Each of these law firms provides legal and other client services in accordance with the relevant laws of the jurisdictions in which they respectively operate, and is subject to the laws and professional regulations of such jurisdictions.
United States
Advocacy, legal consulting, and other legal services are provided in the United States by Hourani Global (Legal) PLLC (“Hourani Global”), a US law firm duly licensed and registered as a domestic professional service limited liability company pursuant to the laws of the State of New York under Department of State ID# 5943348. H&P has entered into an of-counsel association arrangement with Hourani Global.
The New York Bar Association requires attorneys to be individually licensed, registered, and admitted in the State of New York in order to practice law in the State of New York. There are a host of requirements to be satisfied and standards to be met – including on a recurring basis in the form of continuing legal education promulgated by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board – in order for an attorney to become and remain duly licensed and registered to practice law in the State of New York.
Lebanon
Advocacy, legal consulting, and other legal services are provided in Lebanon by the Law Office of Fadi Hourani, duly licensed and registered in Lebanon under Professional License Number 2653, through its office in Beirut, Lebanon.
The Law Office of Fadi Hourani is regulated by the Beirut Bar Association which also has jurisdiction over the individual attorneys employed by or practicing under The Law Office of Fadi Hourani.
Saudi Arabia
From time to time advocacy, legal consulting, and other legal services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are referred to Mohammed M. Zarei & Khalid N. Alhamdan Law Firm (“ZH Partners”), a Saudi law firm duly licensed and registered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under Professional License Number 878/12/323 and Legal Establishment Number 00005707-0, with offices in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar.
As the official professional regulatory body in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Ministry of Justice also has jurisdiction over the individual attorneys employed by or practicing under ZH Partners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The use of terms or phrases such as “associated practice”, “associated firm”, “integrated practice”, “international legal practice” or similarly encompassing designations on this website is purely for convenience only and is not intended to imply that H&P and/or any of the law firms associated with H&P are operating as a single firm that is engaged in the provision of legal or other services in multiple jurisdictions or are operating in partnership together, or that any of them accepts responsibility for the acts and/or omissions of the other. Moreover, any reference to a “location”, “office”, “presence” or similar terminology means a location, office or presence of H&P and/or any of the law firms associated with H&P, as the case may be.
Legal responsibility for the provision of legal services to clients is set out in the engagement letters entered into between clients and the relevant law firm and the terms of such engagement letters should be relied upon in determining liability for the legal services provided. Any explicit written agreement and/or consent of both entities involved, no entity is responsible for the acts or omissions of, nor has any authority to obligate or otherwise bind, any other entity.
In accordance with the common terminology used in professional service organizations, the term “Partner” is used throughout the H&P Website to refer to a person who is a member, partner, shareholder, or person of equivalent standing or authority in H&P or any of the law firms associated with H&P. The term “Partner” does not mean that they are all partners of each other or that they are partners in the legal sense. They may be an employee, consultant, partner, shareholder, or member of the relevant entity or undertaking.
