Katlego is a South-African–qualified corporate lawyer with more than a decade of post-qualification experience advising on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and strategic commercial transactions across Africa and the Middle East. His practice blends robust legal execution with commercial acumen gained from senior private practice and in-house roles.

Prior to joining Hourani, Katlego held senior in-house and private practice roles, including as Senior Legal Director at a leading food and beverage group in the GCC and at a top-tier South African law firm, where he advised on high-value mandates spanning across energy, financial services, infrastructure, healthcare, technology and consumer goods sectors.

  • A prominent food and beverage group in the GCC on drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and providing ongoing legal support for cross-jurisdiction commercial transactions
  • A listed financial-services group on multiple strategic transactions, including a USD 135 million project financing of three 420 MW wind farms and the acquisition and subsequent integration of various African subsidiaries
  • A listed financial-services group on a USD 1.3 billion minority investment, in an India-focused joint venture, by a sovereign-backed Middle East investment vehicle
  • A South-African building-materials retailer on its USD 60 million acquisition of a competing national chain—the sector’s largest domestic deal that year
  • The investment arm of a global FMCG company on aspects of its worldwide separation of a legacy beverage business
  • A renewable-energy developer on the acquisition and disposal of multiple solar and wind projects
