Abdussalam is an Associate in Hourani’s Corporate & M&A practice. He advises on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital transactions, and general corporate matters across a range of sectors including technology, artificial intelligence, healthcare, sports, and financial services.

Prior to joining Hourani & Partners, Abdussalam practiced at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain in London. Abdussalam also worked at AXA Investment Managers (now part of BNP Paribas) within the Impact Investments team, where he advised the Global Health and Natural Capital teams on venture capital investments.

Abdussalam’s experience includes advising:

• A leading UK retail group on its multi-brand acquisition from a competitor, involving 13 fashion and lifestyle businesses through a single multi-closing share purchase agreement.
• Advising an industry-leading augmented reality business on a sale valued in excess of US$500m.
• The participating clubs on the formation of Premier Women’s Rugby, the league for professional women’s rugby in England.
• On a complex and high-value transaction involving a peatland restoration project and monetisation of the associated carbon credits, including a venture capital equity investment into the topco, an acquisition of the landco and the structuring of various commercial arrangements.
• A web3/blockchain business based in Delaware on its US$400k SAFE investment from an early-stage accelerator which provides seed capital for web3 startups.
• A leading eSports entertainment provider on its Series A fundraising round, raising more than GBP 2 million from high-net-worth investors.
