Mohamed is a Senior Associate in Hourani & Partners’ Dispute Resolution Practice with a focus on international and commercial arbitration, onshore courts litigation, and DIFC Courts. His practice spans various sectors of commercial law involving complex commercial and business matters and agreements in a wide array of areas including employment, banking, bankruptcy and insolvency, distribution, licensing and agency.

Mohamed has worked across a range of industries, including construction, aviation, oil and gas, TMT, international trade, real estate, and banking. In addition, Mohamed has represented clients in matters involving aviation laws and antidumping investigations initiated by foreign countries under the auspices of the World Trade Organization.

His extensive work with the UAE onshore courts has provided him with valuable insights into court procedures and enforcement of judgments and has allowed him to cultivate strong relationships with governmental and regulatory authorities.

Mohamed’s experience includes representing:

  • An owner of a major hotel business chain before the Sharjah Courts in a criminal fraud case and US$100 million civil claim, resulting in the successful dismissal of both cases on jurisdictional grounds
  • A leading international chain restaurant developer in multiple claims filed before the DIFC Courts, Dubai Courts and Joint Judicial Tribunal for the Dubai Courts and the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts
  • A leading international bank in multiple court claims before the Dubai and Sharjah Courts
  • A major developer in a DIAC arbitration claim involving validity of arbitration clauses, valid authority to arbitrate and conditions of filing a counterclaim under DIAC Rules
  • A prominent regional investor in a DIFC claim against an international hedge fund manager for actions of deceit, inducement to breach a contractual obligation and breach of fiduciary duty
  • A hedge fund manager in an onshore court cross claim initiated by an auditor, resulting in the rejection of the insertion request and the auditor being ordered to pay US$ 200 million
